World Championship History
Following the 2019 U19 world championship, the age grouping was changed to U20
The first Under-19 Women’s World Championship was sanctioned by the International Federation of Women’s Lacrosse Associations (IFWLA) in Haverford, Pa., with Australia defeating the U.S. for gold. Since then, Team USA went on to win the next four world championships against the Aussies.
In 2015, Canada stunned the U.S. in the gold medal game in Scotland to win its first championship. The U.S. resumed the top standing in the world in 2019 after beating the Canadians in Peterborough, Ontario.
