Cup of Nations Details
Accommodations: • US Lacrosse and the Cup of Nations Committee have secured reduced rates with several local hotels. Click here to learn more. • A host-stay option may be available for international teams based on availability, please inquire.
Requirements: • Open to any team (recreational, club, travel, high schools etc.) • US teams will follow the age requirements of the US U-19 team (rising freshman in high school to rising freshman in college but must be under 19), but we will consider waiving this requirement for International teams with a written request for special consideration. • Each participant must be a current US Lacrosse member at the time of the event. This does not apply to international participants. • Individuals who wish to participate, but are not affiliated with a team, will also have an opportunity to play. Our goal is to fill two teams (Stars and Stripes) with those participants who wish to register individually. The Cup of Nations committee will make arrangements to place the players on teams and will provide coaches. • Teams may hold a minimum of 16 players, and a maximum of 20. Teams may have a staff of four on the field (i.e. coaches, trainer, and manager).
Fees: • There is a required team participation fee of $1,300 which covers Full-Event World Cup 10-day passes for all of the participants, use of the fields, umpires, an event program, free parking and inclusion in the World Cup Closing Ceremonies. • A non-refundable deposit of $400 must accompany the completed registration form. (This deposit will be returned to those teams not selected.) • There is a required individual participation fee of $65 (paid in full upon registration) for Stars and Stripes players and they will receive a full-event World Cup 10-day passes, a social event, use of the fields, umpires, an event program, free parking and inclusion in the World Cup Closing Ceremonies.
Format: • US Lacrosse rules will be used; however, they will be modified for an international flavor and will include the addition of hard boundaries. • Teams will be placed in pools based on ability (5 pools). • Games will be 50 minute, running clock. • Each team is guaranteed a minimum of five games.
Selection: • Selection was determined by Super Region location chosen on a first come first served basis (See http://sites.uslacrosse.org/wdoc/Find%20Us/SRMap.htm)
