International Federation of Women's Lacrosse Associations
The International Federation of Women's Lacrosse Associations (IFWLA) was formed in 1972 to promote and develop the game of women’s lacrosse throughout the world. Inaugural members were Australia, England, Scotland, Wales and the United States. The number of member countries has doubled as lacrosse has spread. New member countries are from Asia and Europe- we are now nurturing the interest shown in South America. Promoting all levels of lacrosse includes the IFWLA sponsorship of the World Cup and the Under-19 World Championship Tournaments. Each event is held every 4 years.
