Jessy Morgan, the athletic director at Garrison Forest School (Md.) and the former head women’s lacrosse coach at George Mason University, is one of the veteran presenters at the upcoming US Lacrosse Convention.

This year’s US Lacrosse Convention will be different for everyone due to its virtual nature, but there will be some familiar names to make convention attendees feel right at home.

The online event takes places from Jan. 15-16, 2021 and features tracks for coaches, officials, program leaders, PE teachers, fans of the game and more.

Here’s a look at some of the familiar faces presenting for coaches at this year’s LaxCon:

  • U.S. U21 head coach and Ohio State men’s lacrosse coach Nick Myers will be joined by two of his U.S. team assistant coaches — his brother, Pat, the head coach at Lafayette; and Andrew Stimmel, the head coach at Marquette. The trio will share the drills they used to both select and develop the U.S. team.
  • U.S. women’s team head coach Jenny Levy, also the head coach of the No. 1-ranked North Carolina women’s team, presents on how to organize your practices to get the most bang for your buck.
  • Jay Dyer, the strength & conditioning coach for the U.S. national teams and the men’s and women’s lacrosse teams, will lead a Saturday morning workout to get you moving and give you ideas for your team.
  • Jessy Morgan, the athletic director at Garrison Forest School (Md.) and the former head women’s lacrosse coach at George Mason University, will share a presentation on the importance of defense.
  • Ryan Boyle, the co-founder of Trilogy Lacrosse, a National Hall of Fame player and one of the brightest minds in the sport, will share his ideas on extra-man offense. Mitch Belisle, his colleague at Trilogy and also a former U.S. team player, will present on defense.
  • Sammy Jo Tracy, a former star at North Carolina and noted teaching specialist through the Draw Control Academy, is back for her third straight year sharing insight on one of the most important parts of the game.

We’re thrilled to have them back, but just as excited to have some new coaching presenters in our lineup for 2021. Here’s a sampling of some of the first-time speakers:

  • University of Tampa head women’s lacrosse coach Kelly Gallagher. Gallagher is the only coach in program history and led the Spartans to the 2019 Sunshine State Conference championship.
  • Deemer Class, an assistant women’s lacrosse coach at USC and a Premier Lacrosse League player, will offer sessions on skill development progressions and how to apply them to the field for both men’s and women’s game coaches.
  • Alice Lee, the head women’s lacrosse coach at Williams College since the 2018 season, will have a session geared towards midfielders and the skills everyone needs.
  • Jonathan Basti, the head men’s lacrosse coach at Sacred Heart, has a thought-provoking session titled “Coaching Outside the Box; Applying the 20/80 rule.”
  • Pamela Jenkins, now entering her second season as the head women’s lacrosse coach at Delaware State, will share insight with a session on team building.
  • Team USA attackman and Premier Lacrosse League player Jordan Wolf, one of the most prolific threats in the sport with the ball behind the cage will share some of his tips on “Dodging from X.”

We look forward to seeing you at LaxCon this year. Visit the LaxCon page for the full lineup of speakers and to register for this year’s event — which includes 12-month access to all of the presentations.
