The annual US Lacrosse Convention began Friday in Baltimore, marking the largest educational and networking event in the sport. Thousands of lacrosse coaches, officials, administrators, players, industry representatives and fans will descend on the Baltimore Convention Center this weekend.

The US Lacrosse Fan Fest opens the convention center to the public from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday. Fan Fest attendees will tour the expo hall’s 165 exhibitors and enjoy demonstrations, autographs, contests and more. The U.S. national teams highlight the schedule of demonstrations. Tickets to Fan Fest are priced at $15 for adults, $10 for youth and high school, and free for kids under 6. Any fan wearing a lacrosse jersey will save $5 on admission. All Fan Fest tickets will be sold at the gate. Cash and most major credit cards will be accepted.

Walk-up registration will continue Saturday in the convention center for $160. Membership in US Lacrosse is required to register for the convention and can be renewed or initiated on site.

Rorke Denver Keynote Address

Rorke Denver, a 13-year U.S. Navy SEAL, author, actor and former All-American defenseman at Syracuse, delivered the Convention's keynote address to an audience of several thousand coaches, officials and administrators Friday evening.

Perhaps Denver's most compelling advice of the evening was a message to coaches and officials in positions of leadership.

"The higher you go up in the chain of command, the more people you are in service to. Pick up the burdens first, always bring that energy, and set an example."
