US Lacrosse and STX are joining together to offer four specially priced lacrosse starter kits to US Lacrosse members. These kits feature STX equipment designed for the player who is just learning the game, providing young athletes with an ideal introduction to the sport and parents with peace of mind in knowing they are getting equipment that adheres to US Lacrosse standards.

Each kit is aligned with US Lacrosse’s Athlete Development Model (LADM), meaning that players are matched with the proper equipment for their age and their level of physical development. The LADM motto is “the right lacrosse at the right time” and a percentage of each kit sold will go directly toward supporting the LADM initiative.

The new STX Lacrosse Starter Kits, offered at a special savings for US Lacrosse members, are available for online purchase at the US Lacrosse Member Store:

“STX is committed to providing the right product for young athletes just being introduced to the sport,” said Ed Saunders, STX vice president of marketing and sales. “Our team worked closely with US Lacrosse to identify the right boys’ and girls’ lacrosse products to create unique starter kits that support the LADM program. When matched with the proper gear, players can have a safe and fun experience while developing new skills and a greater interest in the game.”

The four starter kits for US Lacrosse members are offered in boys’ and girls’ packages, with U6, U8, and U10 options available. All packages include an STX lacrosse stick and soft practice balls. Additional equipment options, including girls’ goggles and boys’ helmets and pads, are also available.

“We're excited to work with one of our longtime partners to bring this program to the lacrosse community,” said Brett Hurwitz, managing director of strategic partnerships for US Lacrosse. “This initiative adds to the value we provide our members, helps make the game more accessible to everyone by reducing the cost of equipment for new players, and provides financial support to a key program that we think will help the game continue to prosper. We're thankful for the commitment from STX in working with us to develop this program.”

Launched in 2016, LADM utilizes evidence-based guidelines for providing a developmentally appropriate lacrosse environment at each step of the way, from age 4 to 94.
