The Positive Coaching Alliance, a longtime partner of US Lacrosse, is currently accepting nominations for its Double-Goal Coach Award.

The PCA says that a Double-Goal Coach strives to win while also pursuing the more important goal of teaching life lessons through sports. Double-Goal Coaches teach players how to honor the game, they fill their players’ emotional tanks and allow mistakes as part of the learning process.

From now through Nov. 30, nominations are being accepted for deserving coaches with at least three years’ experience as a head coach of a school, travel, club or rec team. A total of 100 regional winners will be honored and 25 national winners will receive $1,000.

Justin Georgacakis, a football and lacrosse coach from Glenbrook North High School in Illinois was among the 25 national winners last year, and regional winners included Jeremie Brunet from San Rafael (Calif.) High School girls lacrosse, Robert Graff of Bloomington (Minn.) Youth Lacrosse and Jason Smith of Texas Legacy Lacrosse.
