As we all know, coaches can play a powerful and impactful role in the life of youth players. In some cases, coaches spend more time with young athletes than parents and teachers. Coaches help youth in developing their skills and abilities, but also in coping with many of life’s ups and down, including winning and losing games.

That’s why it’s critical that youth players have positive coaches who understand that success is not measured solely by the scoreboard. While winning is important, it is more important that coaches teach life lessons through sports. That way, no matter the outcome of a contest, all players can take a valuable, enriching experience from sports and apply it to the rest of their lives.

The Positive Coaching Alliance (PCA) describes this type of coach who focuses on both of these outcomes as a Double-Goal Coach®, and wants to recognize the very best from coast-to-coast.

If your coach fits this description, why not take a few minutes to recognize him or her by submitting a nomination for the Positive Coaching Alliance’s Double-Goal Coach Award, presented by TeamSnap. Winners will be flown to California in the spring to accept this honor at the PCA’s Annual National Youth Sports Awards.

Act today. The deadline for nominations is November 30.
