SANDUSKY, Ohio — With construction of Sports Force Parks at Cedar Point Sports Center in Ohio ahead of schedule, the project’s momentum continues as Sports Force Parks officially announced their initial slate of tournaments for 2017. Located just miles down the road and across the bay from Cedar Point, the park will be the premier youth sports facility in the Midwest; providing a one-of-a-kind sports tournament and vacation experience for athletes and their families while offering Erie County exposure to the rapidly growing, recession-resilient youth sports tourism industry.

Coaches, teams and families can now visit and register for inaugural-year tournaments and special events. As part of the initial schedule release, Sports Force Parks announced the first weeklong lacrosse tournament, the Baggataway Lacrosse Extravaganza, complete with opening ceremonies, more guaranteed games and additional opportunities to visit Cedar Point. Sports Force Parks is offering up to $500 off weeklong tournaments for teams that sign up by July 15th.

With Sports Force Parks’ ability to host all levels of lacrosse, baseball, softball, and softball, combined with professional-level synthetic turf fields and diverse family activities, reaction from the sports industry has been strong with interest, bookings, and partnerships with noted organizations such as US Lacrosse. Sports Force Parks is excited to be a National Partner and the Official Sports Park of US Lacrosse, and to work together to grow the game across the country.

Benefits for teams that participate in tournaments at Sports Force Parks are vast. They’ll have the opportunity to not only play at a state-of-the-art facility, but as an added benefit to tournament registration, all players will receive event long passes to Cedar Point, The Roller Coaster Capital of the World®, and Soak City Waterpark.

Family members who visit Sports Force Parks to support teams, watch tournaments, and enjoy the facility’s recreational activities can purchase discounted Cedar Point and Soak City tickets as well.

“We’re extremely pleased with the progress of Sports Force Parks and its initial reception thus far,” said Brian Storm, President and Chief Executive Officer of The Sports Force, Inc. “We are excited about our partnerships with US Lacrosse, Cedar Point and the local community, and look forward to the opportunity to create a world-class lacrosse tournament experience for teams and their families. The intense interest in the project is all positive not only for Sandusky, but for the entire state of Ohio and the surrounding areas.”

Sports Force Parks at Cedar Point Sports Center consists of eight NCAA regulation lacrosse and soccer fields, as well as four NCAA regulation baseball fields and eleven youth baseball and softball fields. The complex also features fun for families like miniature golf, ropes courses, trampoline structures, dining options and more.

Cedar Point and parent company Cedar Fair Entertainment Company, headquartered in Sandusky, Ohio, are committed to community development and the youth sports space. This new facility has been made possible by collaboration with The Sports Force, local businesses, governments, community leaders and tourism organizations and is Cedar Fair’s first major foray into the youth sports tourism industry. The facility will serve as the framework to allow Cedar Fair to explore potential sports facilities in new markets across the country.

“When we think about how we can impact the communities we serve, family fun is what we do best,” said Duff Milkie, Executive Vice President and General Counsel for Cedar Fair. “We know that time is valuable to busy families participating in so many activities. If we can combine their sporting events with a few days at one of our beautiful Cedar Fair parks, they’ll be able to spend more time together and our communities will benefit immensely.”

Construction on Sports Force Parks at Cedar Point Sports Center is scheduled to wrap up this fall. For more information, including how to book a tournament and multi-day visits to Sports Force Parks, visit or call 1-844-737-2757.
