BALTIMORE — US Lacrosse today announced the boys’ and girls’ lacrosse teams that will compete in the eighth annual US Lacrosse National Championships July 19-21 (girls) and 22-24 (boys) at the Grand Park in Westfield, Ind.

Forty-seven teams from 16 states will bring nearly 1,500 players and families to Hamilton County, Ind., for an event that features many of the best-run programs in US Lacrosse’s national youth membership. Defending national champions Long Island Yellow Jackets (N.Y.) and Fellowship of Christian Athletes National (Md.) return to highlight the U15 divisions of play.

“Grand Park is a fantastic venue, and we are looking forward to giving our participating teams a first-class tournament experience,” said Kim Rogers, director of events at US Lacrosse.

The girls’ event includes divisions for U13 and U14 age groups. Each tournament will begin with a day of pool play. After that, teams will be seeded for a single-elimination bracket. Teams that reach the semifinals and that win the sportsmanship award will earn automatic invitations to the 2017 US Lacrosse National Championships.
