SPARKS, Md. — In an effort to help improve the safety of young lacrosse players, US Lacrosse has agreed to a partnership with Go4Ellis, an online platform that helps connect events with athletic trainers. Go4Ellis is a “Recommended Event Partner” of US Lacrosse.

The Go4Ellis platform makes it convenient for lacrosse event operators — camps, tournaments, leagues — to connect with qualified athletic trainers. All athletic trainers available through the Go4Ellis platform are members of the National Athletic Trainers’ Association. Current US Lacrosse guidelines for sanctioned events require a minimum of one athletic trainer for every three fields used for play.

As part of the partnership, Go4Ellis will provide injury data from US Lacrosse sanctioned events. The data will be collected and documented by athletic trainers.

“The benefits to this partnership are two-fold,” said Bruce Griffin, director of the Center for Sport Science at US Lacrosse. “The ease of use of Go4Ellis increases the number of events that are appropriately covered by athletic trainers. Secondly, athletic trainers provide the best source of reliable injury data. The data collected through this partnership will greatly enhance our injury surveillance efforts, allowing us to make informed rules decisions to keep players safe.”

“We are excited to forge our first partnership with a National Governing Body,” said Ellis Mair, Co-Founder and Vice President of Go4Ellis, “We commend US Lacrosse for its dedication to safety. We are proud to be the recommended athletic trainer services provider of all US Lacrosse sanctioned events.”
