The COVID-19 pandemic has forced major alterations to the US Lacrosse National Team Development Program. Formally launched last year, the NTDP is an initiative to provide high-level training for the nation’s top younger players and expand the talent pool for the U.S. national teams.

The planned program for 2020 initially consisted of three phases: a series of regional tryouts (held in conjunction with the PLL and the WPLL); a national combine; and an exhibition against foreign competition for the final USA Select teams.

The pandemic forced US Lacrosse to cancel the regional tryouts and the initial plans were to move to a virtual application process ahead of national combine for August. With that event now delayed due to dynamic nature of the pandemic and varying state and local health and safety recommendations, US Lacrosse is seeking input from anyone with an interest in being a part of the NTDP on what they feel is the best course of action for this year.
