Danowski, the winningest coach in NCAA Division I men’s lacrosse history with 412 career victories, has coached at the collegiate level for 37 years, including the last 13 years at Duke. He has led the Blue Devils to three national championships (2010, 2013 and 2014) and 10 NCAA semifinal berths. Before coming to Duke, Danowski had successful runs at Hofstra and C.W. Post.

In late 2015, Danowski was named the head coach for the 2018 U.S. team that ultimately won gold with a thrilling one-goal victory over Canada in the world championship game in Israel. Danowski has since been appointed to another term with the U.S. team program and will coach Team USA at the 2022 World Lacrosse Men’s World Championship.

Thorpe was the head coach for the 2019 U.S. team that won a bronze medal at the World Indoor Lacrosse Championship in Canada. A former U.S. team player and 15-year veteran of the National Lacrosse League’s Rochester Knighthawks, Thorpe has been a leading advocate in helping to promote box lacrosse in the United States.

After spending the last 10 seasons as an assistant coach for the women’s lacrosse program at Syracuse, Thorpe is now the head coach and general manager for the New York Riptide, an expansion franchise in the NLL that will begin play this season. On the professional level, Thorpe has previously served as a head coach in both Major League Lacrosse and the United Women’s Lacrosse League.
