The long-awaited dream is about to become reality.

The U.S. women’s U19 team will hold a final exhibition game tonight at 7:30 p.m. at Niagara University against a team of collegiate all-stars from the Buffalo area before crossing the border tomorrow to get ready for the 2019 World Lacrosse Women’s U19 World Championship.

The exhibition is free and open to the public.

The mini training camp at Niagara is the fifth training weekend the team has had since the initial tryouts last summer as head coach Kelly Amonte Hiller aims to bring a gold medal back to the United States.

The U.S. had won four consecutive women’s U19 world championships before Canada took gold in Scotland in 2015.

Opening ceremonies for the 2019 world championship in Peterborough, Ontario will be held on July 31 with game action beginning on Aug. 1. The first U.S. game will be Friday, Aug. 2 at 5 p.m. and will be streamed live on Lax Sports Network. The U.S. continues with pool play games against England on Aug. 3 and host Canada on Aug. 4.

The playoff round begins on Aug. 6 with the championship game set for Aug. 10.
