USA Field Hockey, the National Governing Body (NGB) of field hockey, and US Lacrosse, the NGB of lacrosse, believe both sports are complimentary – in physical development, fundamental skills and a shared belief in the role each organization plays in shaping the opportunities for long-term development of children in the United States.

On Sunday, August 25, 2019, USA Field Hockey and US Lacrosse will collaborate on a 2-hour multi-sport clinic for boys and girls to be held at US Lacrosse headquarters in Sparks, Md.

This clinic is meant for boys and girls, ages 5-14, who have little to no experience with field hockey or lacrosse. Participants will be coached by the national staff of both NGB’s, along with coaches from local member organizations. The sessions will be based on the American Development Model designed by both NGB’s and will provide opportunities for players to take part in fun and challenging physical literacy games; along with learning the fundamentals of both lacrosse and field hockey through game-based play.

Registration for the 2-hour clinic is $50 and includes:

  • Participation in the 2-hour Stick2Sports Clinic
  • 1-year Youth Membership from each NGB
  • 1 Stick2Sports T-shirt
  • 1 Field Hockey Stick
  • 2 Field Hockey Balls
  • Field Hockey Shin Guards
  • 1 Lacrosse Stick
  • 1 Lacrosse Ball
  • 6 Issues of US Lacrosse Magazine

USA Field Hockey and US Lacrosse strive to be a leader in sport and encourage kids to participate in multiple sports! According to The Aspen Institute, “Multi-sport participation can lead to better performance, less burnout, less social isolation and, most importantly, more lifelong enjoyment in sports.” USA Field Hockey and US Lacrosse hope this event serves as a catalyst for other organizations to act and consider similar partnerships to continue to improve the lives of all children and encourage everyone to stay active for life.

Harrow Sports, Warrior, Brine and SWAX LAX are the equipment suppliers for this event.
