US Lacrosse is now accepting nominations for several of its 2021 awards, recognizing outstanding players, coaches, officials, and contributors from around the country. Online submissions can be made for Youth Awards, High School Player and Coach Awards, and the Gerry Carroll Award.

Youth Awards

The Youth Awards are given in nine different categories, recognizing coaches, officials, administrators, and other contributors for their dedication in supporting and growing youth lacrosse. A full explanation of each award is available online.

Nominators are asked to include two recommendation letters of support in addition to the online submission. These letters should feature information or stories reflecting the nominee’s particular strengths, outstanding qualities as a coach or administrator, his or her contributions to the game, and how he or she has supported the US Lacrosse vision.

Online submissions for USL Youth Awards are being accepted through June 1, 2021.

High School Awards

These awards for high school boys’ and girls’ players include All-America honors, All-Academic recognition, and the Bob Scott and Jackie Pitts awards. Nominations for high school awards are only accepted from current coaches

USL All-Americans are the best players from their area. They exhibit superior skills and techniques, possess exceptional game sense and knowledge, and embody good sportsmanship.

An All-Academic player is one who exhibits exemplary lacrosse skills, good sportsmanship on the field, represents high standards of academic achievement in the classroom, and volunteers within their community.

The Bob Scott Award (for boys) and Jackie Pitts Award (for girls) each recognize one senior player in each area who goes above and beyond in service to his team, school, and community.

In addition to these awards, nominations are accepted for boys’ and girls’ coaches of the year from each area.

After a disruption to the high school awards in 2020 due to COVID-19, US Lacrosse is resuming its normal award offerings in 2021.

Gerry Carroll Award

This award, established in memory of Gerry Carroll, is given annually to one boys' high school coach nationwide, and measures the success of a coach not in victories but in the care and guidance given to the balanced development of young men who play the game.

Nominees must be members in good standing of US Lacrosse, and two letters of recommendation from individuals other than family members are required. The recipient is chosen by a committee comprised of Carroll friends and family.
