We’re just over a week away from the 2021 US Lacrosse Convention — an all-virtual event that takes place Jan. 15-16. The new format will be a different experience for this annual staple, but we’re excited to bring the lacrosse community together in a different way to get ready for the season.

Lacrosse enthusiasts from around the country — and the world — join in one of the largest celebrations our sport has to offer. For many, the US Lacrosse Convention serves as a launching pad for the lacrosse season. In 2021, US Lacrosse is bringing LaxCon to you in a virtual format.

The officials’ curriculum at the 2021 US Lacrosse Convention is geared to assist local lacrosse organizations train their officials for the upcoming season. The virtual sessions can be used to supplement local training efforts and replace in-person sessions that aren’t able to be held due to COVID-19 restrictions.

With an all-virtual format for 2021, January’s LaxCon event will have a different look and feel from previous editions, but some things will not be changing, including, for the fourth straight year, a dedicated education track focused on box lacrosse.

In light of the continuing COVID-19 pandemic, as well as US Lacrosse’s growing commitment to box lacrosse, the national governing body offers several recommendations in support of risk mitigation.

World Lacrosse announced the creation and seating of the Women’s Indoor/Box Lacrosse Working Group to investigate and develop a pathway for the development of Women’s Indoor/Box Lacrosse around the world at both the junior (U19/20) and senior levels in order to provide an opportunity for women to compete in the discipline.

The United States built a big lead and withstood a late surge by England, claiming its fifth straight bronze medal in the World Indoor Lacrosse Championship with an 11-8 victory Saturday at Langley Events Centre.

US Lacrosse has announced updates to its box rules and points of emphasis for 2019. The points of emphasis for 2019 relate to abuse of officials, illegal body checking and boarding, helmets and penalties.
