This photo gallery celebrates the launch of the Lacrosse Communities Project in the Cleveland neighborhood of Ohio City. US Lacrosse and its North Coast Ohio Chapter have committed $300,000 to the program in local and national funds over two years. In addition to delivering ongoing lacrosse programming for youth in the Ohio City and surrounding Cleveland neighborhoods, a portion of those proceeds have funded the development of a small-sided lacrosse field at Urban Community School (UCS).

Bridge the Gap: Ferris School Project, Part 2

Earlier this month, we posted a video about a new lacrosse program at Ferris School (Del.), a a secure care, accredited treatment facility providing services for up to 72 court committed males, ages 13 to 18.

As part of US Lacrosse's support of the Ferris School program, we partnered with the Sankofa Lacrosse Foundation to bring experienced lacrosse players to Ferris to offer instruction and share their life experiences with the sport.

Lacrosse Provides Inspiration During Battle with Leukemia

Four years ago, Rick and Jennifer Baker’s then seven-year-old son, Trip, was diagnosed with leukemia. Having just moved to Wyoming from Southern California, the Bakers were without a big network of family and friends as treatments started for Trip. 

While his parents were focusing on Trip’s health, Trip was focusing on lacrosse. He made his dad promise that he’d start a lacrosse team for Trip to play on after undergoing a stem-cell transplant and being cleared for sports again.
