The US Lacrosse Insurance Program applies whether the lacrosse games or activities are held outdoors or indoors, as long as the established rules approved by US Lacrosse are enforced. For box lacrosse played with dasher boards, US Lacrosse Box/Indoor Rules must be followed without modification. The insurance program does not apply to any play involving box lacrosse rules or play that allows cross-checking (push checks are allowed) or boarding.

For indoor lacrosse, all lacrosse activities are covered as long as field lacrosse rules are enforced. Minor modifications to approved field rules, such as reduced number of players, field size, boundaries, and time will not affect the insurance coverage as long as the modifications do not challenge the intent of the rules or jeopardize player safety.

The next version of the US Lacrosse Insurance Guide will reflect this changed language, effective October 10, 2017.
