US Lacrosse is dedicated to assisting schools and community organizations in adding lacrosse to their offerings for youth. Through the First Stick program, awarded organizations receive free lacrosse equipment so that they can provide affordable and accessible youth lacrosse activities to their students and participants.
First Stick Program History
The 2019 First Stick application is now open. US Lacrosse will award equipment grants every month starting in October 2018 and ending in May 2019. Detailed information about this opportunity is provided on the application form.
Note: For schools that want to start lacrosse in physical education class, please apply to the US Lacrosse Soft-Stick Equipment Grant. Teachers can now apply to receive an equipment grant for the 2018-19 School Year. Click here to learn more.
Organizations can apply to receive a Starter Kit Package, Youth Team Grant, or High School Team Grant through the US Lacrosse First Stick Program.
- The Starter Kit Package provides 30 lacrosse sticks, two dozen soft practice balls, and two 3’x3’ goals to help organizations introduce the sport to new participants! Starter Kit grants also include complimentary US Lacrosse membership for up to 2 adult coaches and up to 30 new youth players.
- The Youth or High School Team Grant provides enough equipment for 20 field players and 1 goalie. Organizations that receive a Team Grant are required to be part of the US Lacrosse Member Program. They will receive complimentary US Lacrosse membership for up to 2 adult coaches and up to 20 youth or high school players.
