Why transfer from Richmond?

Initially, I was just looking for a larger university. I went to a boarding school prior to Richmond, so I was used to the small-school feel. I wanted to explore.

Why does Serena Williams inspire you?

Watching her play — and hearing her and her sister’s story and how they overcame adversity —  fueled the fire in me to want to achieve the best I can at the highest level I can. And it was important to me that she’s a person of color, to see someone who looked like me succeed.

What’s your favorite way to exercise?

Basketball. I played in high school. Sometimes when we have off days, we’ll go to the intramural courts and play with some of the boys.

What’s your favorite show to binge?

I really love “The Bachelor.” The girls and I get together to watch every week in the seniors’ houses.

Dogs or cats?

Definitely not cats. Cats scare me.

What’s your favorite family tradition?

On Thanksgiving Day, my family and I go to the bowling alley. One of my brothers has special needs, and his school would throw a fundraiser. All my family is home at once.

Overtime (from Joey Spallina)

What’s your pregame meal?

Hash browns with ketchup, definitely bacon, a glass of orange juice and no coffee — and a cup of fruit. Grapes and strawberries.
