The U.S. Men’s Box National Team will open the World Lacrosse Box Championships with a big challenge against the Haudenosaunee in the featured game of the opening night schedule on Sept. 20. The 28-team event takes place from Sept. 20-29, 2024 in Utica, N.Y.

The U.S. has won the bronze medal at each of previous men’s box world championships. At the most recent men’s box championship in 2019, the U.S. had two spirited games against the Haudenosaunee. The U.S. lost 12-10 in pool play after pulling to within a goal with just over a minute to play and then fell 9-7 in the semifinals in a game in which it held the lead in the fourth quarter.

Regy Thorpe is back to lead the U.S. men’s box team again in 2024 and will be the beneficiary of continued American players’ presence in the National Lacrosse League.

After opening with the Haudenosaunee, the U.S. will play pool play games against England (Sept. 22) and Canada (Sept. 24). The playoff rounds run from Sept. 25 through Sept. 29.

Here’s the U.S. men’s team schedule:

  • Friday, Sept. 20: Haudenosaunee, 8 p.m.
  • Sunday, Sept. 22: England, 1 p.m.
